Shutters 101

In addition to an enviable visual appeal, shutters also provide excellent shading, protect windows from adverse external influences and offer additional thermal insulation and security. Below ,we present four facts about shutters that are good to know.
Shutters provide additional protection against burglars
Shutters offer additional anti-burglary protection. In your absence, a burglar could break the window glass and enter the house, while closed shutters will significantly hinder their entry.
Shutters ensure higher energy efficiency
The role of shading devices in ensuring energy efficiency is increasingly important, as they contribute additionally to the thermal insulation of your home. Properly selected and installed shutters protect the room from external heat in the summer and reduce the energy needed to cool the room. In winter, shutters act as an insulator that forms an additional air bridge between the window and the shutter, thus further insulating the room from cold outdoors.
Cleaning and maintenance of shutters
Clean surfaces with lukewarm water, a highly diluted neutral detergent or soapy water. These agents clean the surface well without causing any damage. Do not use acids, thinners, alcohol or detergents containing ammonia as these substances degrade the coating.
After cleaning, you can touch up the surface with a care product applied with a cloth or sponge. Applying the care product seals micro-cracks in the coating film and creates a new protective layer against external influences. The simple process of touching up the surface greatly contributes to the life of the coating in cases where the coating film is not yet damaged.
