Danica Guesthouse in Bohinj boasting Jelovica windows

Jelovica has renovated the famous Danica Guesthouse in Bohinj – a historic Alpine gem – with wooden joinery. During the renovation, we were consistently trying to strike a balance between modernity and local tradition.
Naturally, we also paid a lot of attention to energy efficiency and the quality of living, which we achieved by installing energy-efficient Jeloterm wooden windows. A touch of homeliness and the architectural style of the Bohinj region were ensured with traditional wooden shutters.
By installing energy-efficient windows, the guesthouse has gained significant added value, which will not only reflect in savings. The new wooden windows will also contribute to the well-being of guests.
After the renovation, the famous building, which stands at the entrance to the popular camp in Bohinjska Bistrica, now shines in a completely new light. We color-coordinated the wooden windows and shutters with the the style of the interior and exterior, which is connected with old tales and rich history of Bohinj.
Another novelty is that the building is almost entirely glazed, which allows guests to enjoy pleasant gatherings on the terrace even when it is cold. The guesthouse now also has a broader accommodation offering, which is stylistically aligned with old Bohinj tradition.
Upon entering the restaurant of Danica Guesthouse, guests will be overwhelmed by a pleasant feeling of homeliness, which is intertwined with architecturally thoughtful details on windows and shutters and the rich history of Bohinj.
At the opening of the renovated Danica Guesthouse, manager Mojca Šiljar wrote, “We will be more than happy if we find a review praising the windows on display at our guesthouse.”
